Who we are
Mersey Direct is operated by JMT Property Services Ltd T/A Mersey Direct. We are responsible for the personal information we use to run this website and respond to enquiries. Contact us at contact@merseydirect.co.uk with privacy questions or requests.
Information we use and why
If you email us, we receive your email address, the name you provide and the contents of your message. We use this information to answer your enquiry, keep appropriate correspondence records and deal with any follow-up. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in handling business enquiries; where you ask about entering a contract, we may also use the information to take steps at your request before a contract.
Our hosting and security services may process technical information such as IP addresses, request times, browser information and the pages requested to deliver the website and investigate faults or abuse. Our legitimate interest is operating a reliable and secure website.
Direct product sales have not launched. We do not currently invite customers to submit payment details or place orders through the site. We will update this notice before introducing customer ordering or new uses of personal information.
Who receives information
We use service providers for website hosting and business email. They process information as needed to provide those services. We may disclose relevant information to professional advisers or authorities when necessary to meet a legal obligation or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not sell enquiry information.
Providers may use infrastructure outside the UK. Where an international transfer requires safeguards, we must use an applicable adequacy arrangement or other legally recognised transfer safeguards. Contact us for information about a transfer relevant to your enquiry.
How long we keep it
We normally keep routine enquiry correspondence for up to 12 months after the last meaningful contact, then review it for deletion. We may retain relevant records longer where needed for an ongoing matter, a legal obligation or a legal claim. Technical logs are kept for the period needed for service operation, troubleshooting and security under the hosting service’s settings; their retention is separate from enquiry correspondence. We do not claim that all records are automatically deleted on a single fixed schedule.
